स्वस्थ तरीके से वजन बढ़ाना (Healthy weight gain) केवल ज्यादा खाने के बारे में नहीं है, बल्कि यह शरीर में Lean muscle mass बढ़ाने और सही मात्रा में वसा (fat) संचय करने की एक वैज्ञानिक प्रक्रिया है। Medical terms में इसे achieving a positive energy balance या Caloric Surplus कहा जाता है।

Understanding Caloric Surplus

वजन बढ़ाने के लिए, आपके शरीर को खर्च की जाने वाली कैलोरी से अधिक कैलोरी का सेवन करना चाहिए (Total Daily Energy Expenditure - TDEE)।

  • Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR): आपके शरीर को आराम की स्थिति में काम करने के लिए जितनी ऊर्जा की आवश्यकता होती है।
  • Thermic Effect of Food (TEF): भोजन को पचाने और अवशोषित करने में खर्च होने वाली ऊर्जा।

जब आपका कैलोरी सेवन (Caloric intake) > TDEE होता है, तो शरीर इस अतिरिक्त ऊर्जा को मांसपेशियों (muscle glycogen and protein) या वसा (adipose tissue) के रूप में संग्रहीत करता है।
