HIV Myths vs Facts: Kissing, Mosquito, Saliva & U=U

HIV myths vs facts: kissing, mosquito, saliva and U=U

Fact: HIV mosquitoes या other biting insects से transmit नहीं होता।

Main routes sexual transmission, shared injection equipment, pregnancy/delivery/breastfeeding से parent-to-child transmission और rare infected-blood exposure हैं। Modern ART, PrEP, PEP और screening/prevention systems transmission risk को substantially reduce करते हैं।

Stigma

When to seek prompt or emergency care

A possible HIV exposure within the past 72 hours needs urgent PEP assessment—the sooner, the better. Seek emergency care for severe breathing difficulty, confusion, collapse or another acute medical crisis. Testing and treatment should remain private, non-judgmental and clinician-led.
